No further updates. Probably won't be riding soon as it's to cold around here. I just pushed the button & it still works. lol
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

that is a nice write up. I ordered a kit waited months and months after talking to Sebastian on the phone before ordering. Never received the kit from them. The company avoided phone calls and emails about status. I finally cancelled after 3 1/2 months due to their lack of any response. I dont know how many they have delivered but if this is the way the act when first ordering just imagine what they are like if you need a spare part. KICK start only for me.

Hi, kirkpz. When did your experience occur? Was it early on when initially offered? billie

I ordered mine on oct 15th 2024. Sebastian told me it would be completed by end of Nov 2024. Called them dec 7 and he said they were not going to produce again till january 2025. followed up in middle of january with email and phone. no response. finally got sebastian on phone and he said he would call back in 5 minutues. No return call. waited 2 weeks then cancelled via email. took 1 week for them to refund. They said they were have production problems.

I read a newspaper. Now I can answer my own question about tariff on Panthera parts coming from Quebec.

There's been a temporary reprieve on Canada purchase from within USA. The reprieve ends 4 March 2025. Before this date, US consumers will pay tariff on Canada merchandise. After this date, US consumers will pay a 25% tariff.

Oh my. I'd forgotten that these were made in Canada... I'm assuming Fisch Moto who basically made an improved version of Panthera's YZ250 e-start are located in the USA? Perhaps this may push them to making a KDX version...???
These are some wild times we have fallen into lately... I'm thinking we need to brace for a major economic crash in the immediate future tbh.

Fisch is actually another Canadian company, located on the west coast though in the province of British Columbia. No idea as to the immediate effects politics will have on pricing. Doubt the vendors up here actually know either.

As for Fisch motor, I actually spoke to them about a KDX version, don't think they felt there was enough demand. But from what I saw, I thought it was a superior design for sure.........

Fisch Moto is local to me about a hour east, I went and talked with them early 2024 before the Panthera started shipping and even offered to lend my bike for R&D but unfortunately they did not see a market for it.
Has anyone else received the Panthera unit yet, all I have seen is Carson Browns and Molly's, thought by now some UTube videos for it.

The Fisch kit isn't flawless either. Check out Cody Webb's Youtube channel about his Fisch starting system failing on him at the Hawaii hard enduro.

Fisch were immediately on top of the issues that Cody Webb has been having, and sent Highland Cycles their kit to test out on the owner's son's bike, a YZ250 2-stroke I presume, as they wanted a second opinion on someone who will torture test it for them, the experience of a professional shop mechanic installing it under much scrutiny & being well-documented.

If you're not familiar, Highland Cycles has a pretty big YouTube and social media presence with all sorts of videos on repairs and upgrades, bike reviews, etc. The guy that always pokes fun at Jeff Slavens from Slavens Racing who does similar but with a very dry tone of voice which gets mocked by this Highland Cycles guy.

Thing is, it failed, spectacularly, on one of the elite riders at a very big race. It's good that Fisch is on top of it and hopefully they makes adjustments in procedures and/or the product to fix the issue(s).

Yeah, Morgan and I know each other just a bit. He comes and does my club's race once in a while (AMRA - TRS Copper Classic) and we have talked online some. Good guy and helluva mechanic.

I have ridden a little bit. Starter works as it should. Not sure if I will do a charging system yet or not.
