Hey Rick- I’m currently trying to do a plastic tank swap on my ‘91 KDX200F mate and I can’t find anything out there pointing me in the right direction! I don’t want to pull the pin on a kx500 tank without the green light, so obviously I’d need matching shrouds, but what kind of brackets did you make up for it to match the radiator bolt holes?! Any help would be greatly appreciated

Need to make brackets for fairings to fit radiator, use kx500 seat and fill the seat back with more foam so it sits lower on the rear kdx200 guard

Has anyone ever tried the IMS tank for the 1988-89 KX125? Stock tank looks exactly like ours, and looks like the pipe sits the same way. Could be a good fit.

Please let us know how it goes if you try. My Eseries is cracked at petcock mount and have to seal it up with epoxy once every couple years. A new one would be nice.

Vintagewannabe, look at one side of the 1989 and earlier KX125's. Then look at the other and repeat until you realize they are one TALL radiator on one side only.

There is one small company internationally that makes replacement E-Series tanks but I don't believe they come in green if I recall? I believe the name is OLM Tanks or something like that. Brazil? Argentina? I can't recall exactly. It's talked about elsewhere on here though.

The other option is to buy a new KX500 tank and shrouds and find a KX500 seat if possible, I'm not sure if the 1989 KX seats are the same as the KX500 seat but the plastics are the same style, they use the same side panels, I would imagine an 89 or 88 KX 125 and 250 would possibly use the same seat as the 500. The 500 tanks will mount on the E-Series but not with the E-Series seat and shrouds.

OLM makes tanks for the E-Series, FYI. I believe just in translucent and black, however.

They are in Argentina, and the website is in Spanish, so you must use your web browser's translate option. Currency is not in US Dollars either, this must be converted from Argentine currency to your currency.
Today, 280,296.00 Argentine Pesos = $262.00 USD. That's likely to begin falling against US favor due to the current direction of the economy/markets, so buy one now... 9 translucent in stock! There's a YouTube review of this tank linked on KDX Rider somewhere.

Cyrano in Argentina(?) also make incredible TIG welded aluminum KDX200E tanks as well as KDX250 & I believe KDX200H/220....

One of the comments states it's $450. I was expecting it to cost more to be honest.

Edit: I commented and they replied. It's $650 +$180 shipping, which is a little more like what I expected.

Correct. The KX500 seat '89-'04 will be the tougher thing to find, however, at least a good seat base.

Exchange rates are tanking for US buyers... The price perhaps didn't go up much if any in the manufacturer's native currency.

That makes sense. It's a nice looking tank, but I don't think I can justify spending over $800 on a tank lol. The tank I have is pretty nice, I just wish it was green instead of white.
