Another UK noobe

Post by wizardsec »

Hi
I recently bought a 1990 kdx200. It needs a bit of tidying but it is 32 years old.
At some point in its life someone put kdx250 forks on it.
Looking forward to learning a lot about this bike. There seems to be tons of great info on hear and a lot of helpful advice.

Regards

Welcome aboard. Thanks for joining us.

Congratulations on your KDX.

There are a few differences between USA and UK models, but most parts are the same. Do you know which exact model you have?

For example, post a frame number. Some were "E" models and some were "F" or "G". Does it have a metal tank or plastic? Thanks.

Hi
It was imported into the UK from South Africa it's got a plastic tank and a G suffix. I think it's got kdx250 forks on, only because I bought a set of 1990 front pads and the didn't fit. A quick ebay search came up with kdx250 1991 to 94 pads that look like the ones on at the moment. I don't know how to post pictures on her yet as I need help finding the correct front brake line.

Regards

I have most of the Kawasaki dealer Model Identification Guides. Here's what a 1990 Kawasaki KDX200-G2 looks like.

If you bought "E" 1990 pads, then they won't work on the brakes it came with.

Cool looking KDX

That looks like the metal tank.

A proper front brake line would be a bit safer on catching roots and such.

Yeah top priority is sorting that front brake line out.
