Any alternates for the stock kickstarter out there? I know Fredette has one and I have seen something about a KX250... but don't know the details.

Re: Alternate Kickstarters
You may want to do a search. I think it is KX250 knuckle and KX125 lever, something like that. I know there is a post somewhere on it with the years involved.
Thank you for participating on kdxrider.net.

Re: Alternate Kickstarters
84-89 KX125 lever is a direct swap on an H series knuckle. It uses the same circlip, ball, and spring. My knuckle was in good shape so I went that route. It was a quick job.
Check out the search like Jason mentioned so you have options. Newer than 89 levers need a different boss and a few people have documented their swaps.

This link is where I learned about using the 89 lever. 84-89 125 levers are the same part number.

Re: Alternate Kickstarters
I'm using the hybrid version with kx250 boss and kx125 kicker. At times I miss the ability to kick the bike over with my hand using that long ass KDX lever though, lol.
There's a thread around here somewhere outlining the years of parts you need.
