lowering links for E series

Kouba only has them for H series. Anybody know where to get one for my '93 200?

If you cant find some you can have the shock shortened internally

Are the links different? They look T be the same but idk about length.
Also, you could simply have some cut.

thanks guys. I'll give em a ring and see. I also wondered if I couldn't just take one to a machine shop and have it made to fit, (if it doesn't). How do you shorten the shock internally. would that mess up the egro?

Shortening the shock will reduce travel....I wouldn't recommend it.
Just have some new links cut to size....See what the whole distance is from a H series lowering link, go out to a steel supply outfit and have them lazer cut you a set with your name int the middle

yup thanks 6riders will do. One other note regarding the shock thing. i'm a little guy, 5'6" and 50 years old. been riding since grade school. I don't ever really jump anymore. never more than 4 ft. hi or so. i have a handfull of bikes for the kids, freinds and all. 99 yz250, 84 xr500, 89 cr500, '04 kx100, 4wheelers, old honda oddysies, etc. etc. Of all these I ride my '93 kdx 200 and xr500 90% of the time. 90% of my riding is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear (12-52 sprockets) puttin, hill climbin, small jumps and such. I just find myself tip toed (barely

) on side hills, roots, rocks and stuff. too often i have to put one leg up on the seat or jump off sometimes. I never come close to bottoming out the suspention, and it's stock (soft

). I'd be super happy if my short azz could be close to flat footed

probably leave me with 5" of travel

but i think i'll be ok. sooooo... is that shock thing still a bad idea. I still have the yz250 and kx100 for jumping when the old hairs get up my azz!!! thanks guys

I would recommend shortening the shock instead of links

From racetech=we do not recommend lowering links! They do nothing to decrease the travel. This means the tire can bottom out through the fender! This has the likely potential to stop the rear wheel from turning and if this happens, it is our belief, can cause a crash.

A Suzuki V-Strom DL650/DL1000 dogbones (Suzuki# 62641-06G00) are roughtly 12mm longer, which will give you about 1" of lowering. The holes will need to be bored slightly for the KDX's linkage bolts. Thickness is the same gauge as the stock e-series kdx steel dogbones.

Retail price for the link is about $20 apiece, but they can be purchased slightly cheaper through discount parts houses, or probably on ebay for next to nothing.
