I started a rebuild on my 94 about 7 months ago.....have had all the parts and pieces sitting in my garage for quite some time, motor assembled and everything. I needed to remove the cylinder and clean out the bottom of the motor (rinsed w/gas) and reassemble. Then put the motor in the bike and start assembling the rest.....Well, I made my son "hang out" w/me today and get this thing put together......
Here is the first time this bike started in 7 months.....

Re: I finally did it!
Fender? I was just getting it to run!
It is in ride-able shape as of right now (complete), but I want to do a few changes......like the KX front fender I have sitting in the garage and another front brake set up....I have 2 H series KDX front brakes and a KX front brake, I managed to put the wrong one on, so I'll have to fix that as well.
THEN I can get those darned decals installed......
I still can't believe she came to life so easily.....

It's E-live!
If that's a '94, what did the forks come off of? They should be be blue USD forks, no?

Good eye..... I did a KX conversion on my 95 and the forks ended being junk, so I stole the 94 (freshly rebuilt and spec'd to me) forks for that bike. those are the 95's forks. They need seals, well they are most likely pure junk. I just put them on to make it roll. I have fork seals, but am waiting for my B.I.L. to help me out with them.Gotanubike wrote:It's E-live!

I did find a set of 95 RM forks (tree and wheel included) locally......just need to get the itch to buy them.

At least they are H forks. Better sprung/valved that 89-92 conventionals! They are more less the same process for changing seals. I think up top, you need to crack a nut below the preload spacer before remove the top cap. And the damper rod holder tool on H series can be made with a 27mm nut. E conventionals were a 29mm, but much like the one seen on here

Yeah, I'm just gonna take them up to my friends shop on Saturday. I still want a fork conversion for the H bike, so eventually the blue USDs will go back on the bike that they belong on.
