Missing data

Post by Julien D »

We had a corruption issue with the database for the server which necessitated a restore from backup. Our backups rum weekly on Saturday, so the site is basically reset to last Saturday. Any topics or replies posted since last Saturday will be missing. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes, however, it was unavoidable.

Yeah, I am not happy about it. DIgital ocean only allows me to do backups once a week, so for the board to bomb out almost exactly one week after the last backup is like worst case scenario, lol. My luck, I guess.

Of course. I'm still confused on what happened, but I guess it is what it is. We are definitely overdue for another forum upgrade. I just dread the amount of hours it takes me to do the work, lol.

I keep having a recurring issue with one of my posts (multiple I believe, the original lost post from the crash/backup restore, and the re-make).

I upload my photos, but then I look at the post and I see someone else's recent upload of a dismantled KDX shock... Looking on my desktop computer vs my mobile phone, I see the correct KDX220/Lectron Billetron photo. Back to mobile phone, shock picture...

When posting and previewing, I deleted attachments multiple times and re-uploaded them due to this also showing up (on my desktop PC even if I recall correctly).

Any idea what causes this?

Perhaps 2 attachments uploaded to the forum with the same name? I have no idea, really.

I also had to migrate to a new virtual server by restoring another backup. Once again we lost a couple of days, but I feel confident I have the database issues resolved now.

Thanks for all your work keeping this site functional, it's GREATLY appreciated. There is no other wealth of KDX knowledge on the internet like this one.
