Non riding related injury; severed flexortendon in left hand
So my dumb inebriated self on new years eve accidentally mishandled a kitchen knife while separating a couple frozen beef patties. Luckily it IS the off-season and we have a local hand specialist / plastic surgeon. The flexor tendon in my left index finger was severed so I was unable to bend it
Doc expected it to make a full recovery within a couple months. Will need physio. Youtube "flexor tendon repair" if you can stomach that sorta thing..
Also hydromorphone is pretty great

Every so often I manage to cut myself in a bad way using knives, mebbe we should keep away from sharp objects . It's great that you're gonna heal tho'!

Dang, sorry to hear that. Hope you heal up soon! I managed to just nick the tendon going to my thumb years back, and it still gives me grief.

Non riding related injury; severed flexortendon in left hand
Thanks all. Hopefully it's back to normal before the start of next riding season, that i'm not worried about. Maybe not having a guitar fingering hand that works has been a pretty scary thought. It's also totally numb on the inside of the finger from above the cut, cause I also severed the radial nerve...good grief. That is supposed to regenerate to some degree
