Got myself a little bit of an issue that im not sure about and hoping someone on here may be able to shed some light on it. I was going about putting new discs on my KDX and the gasket behind has ripped up when taking the old disc off.
From what i have found so far these gaskets are no longer available anywhere.
I know you can get gasket sheets and cut my own but i was just wondering if its a specific material/thickness? Anyone done this before that can shed some light on the situation.
Not even to clued up to why exactly it is there?

Welcome to kdxrider.net. Thanks for signing up and participating.

Which year is your KDX125? What color (just so I can look up the exact parts diagrams)?

I am in the USA, where Kawasaki did not sell that model. I would like to look at the parts diagrams to see what you are talking about.

Thanks.

Its from a 1993 kawasaki kdx 125

Part no: 11060-1163.

It seemed to be a similar material to the engine gaskets except thicker. However it was orange instead of green/black (guessing thats just brand specific though)
Its literally just sandwiched between hub and disc. Perhaps just to stop contact between the two. Like i say not really sure. There are gasket sheets i have seeen on ebay/amazon that come in a variety of thickness . Could buying a set and matching a similar size to the old gasket. Then cutting it to shape be an option

WHAT IN THE WORLD! It is on the 1991 KDX250 also.

If I ever get around to rebuilding my 1991 KDX250, I will do like you said and just buy some gasket material. I have cut a KIPS gasket before from such material.

THANK YOU... for showing me something new, sir!

ALSO, thanks for showing me that parts place. I will definitely cruise through it. I usually use a Japanese place Impex.
