250sr water pump shaft

Post by andytom1969 »

Hi all. Happy new year. I have a 92 kdx250sr and it’s getting water in the crankcase past the impeller shaft seal. I’ve replace the seal a while ago but the shaft was scored. The new seal helped but now it’s gone again. Does anyone know where I can get a new shaft from? Thanks in advance.

Going to be a difficult piece to source. We never got that model in the states so no supply to be found here. Most places I've looked show no availability in the UK, Aus, and Japan. Might be able to take the shaft in to a machine shop and have them fill the score and clean it up, or find a donor motor.

Cheers for that. Looks like I’m gonna have to weld and grind it

It doesn’t share the shaft with any other bikes?

From what I have found you need p/n 13234-1095. The picture of it is different than any of the US spec bikes including the KDX250. Stumbling through the Japanese parts fiches is no easy thing if you can't read Japanese, but it appears to be unique to the SR motor.

Should be easy work for a machine shop to lay a bead and then turn it back to spec.
