KDX 250 SR Piston Ring Gap

Post by Kurt123 »

Hi,

Does anyone know the recommended piston ring gap for a genuine Kawasaki piston and ring set for the SR model? I have the values for the standard KDX250 but not the SR  If not any idea where I can find them?

Thanks

Likely they are the same. Engineers are lazy that way thankfully.

We never got the SR in the states, so finding service manuals and such is difficult for us. I only say that they may be the same because a lot of tolerances/dimensions transfer over between different bikes just because it's easier to use something that works rather than redesign it each time. For Kawasaki bikes this is especially true in the engine and frame departments where they used a lot of the same dimensions between various models. If you can find a service manual, that would be the best way to go.
