It has to be hosted somewhere..... like in your gallery here or photobucket like in the example. You cannot upload to the thread directly.

First, join a website that allows you to post pictures. I use Photobucket

As soon as I got an account there, I IMMEDIATELY figured out how to upload photos here! You won't (can't) have any problems.

When you post a reply, there should be an Img tag up top.
You click that tag, insert your link, then click the Img tag again.
A link is just fine - don't know what all the fuss is about
