Posting Hosted Photos

Post by ericr »

I've been using Google Blogger to host photos and just noticed tonight that the photos I've posted are now too wide. You now need to use a scroll bar to view the full image.

I'm sure this would happen regardless of the hosting site - Photobucket, Imgur, etc. Is this just a glitch or is this a new restriction on image size?

I was using images 2048 pixels wide and now it's too much. What are the new guidelines on posting photos?

Can you post a couple of examples?

I looked through your rebuild thread briefly, and those look good.

Here's a screenshot of my browser. I checked another PC, both running chrome, same problem. This image is hosted too. I tried uploading directly, but couldn't find an option to do so. Do I not have that privilege?

And just in case it was a problem with Chrome, here's the same thing in Edge...

I went to that thread and that same page / picture. Mine looks fine.

Can you try it with the Lucid Lime style instead of the standard white?

I give up - where would I find the Lucid Lime style?

Lucid Lime did not change it. I restarted both browsers too. It's getting a bit late here on the west coast, must be much later for you. If I'm the only one having this problem, I'll just live with it. Thanks for your help, Jason. If I can do more, I'll catch up with you tomorrow. Thanks.

I've been playing with a lightbox plugin to resize images. I'm using 1024x768 right now, so if your viewable screen area is smaller than that you will see a scroll bar. If you click the image, it will open up fullsize in a lightbox pupup. If you save the images to your PC, you can then insert it as an attachment. You cannot insert hosted images inline as attachments.

*edit*

Scrollbar should be gone. Lightbox feature remains. Additionally, the lightbox addon will let you scroll through all images per post in a gallery style popup.

Thanks for the fix. By Lightbox plugin, do you mean the G+ Lightbox extension for Chrome?
