Policy change?

Post by SS109 »

Kirsten and mods, I believe their should be a policy or something put in place so that members can't access certain sub-forums until they reach so many posts. I really don't like trolls.

Thanks for the reply Kirsten! I understand the forum software has limitations but maybe something can be done. If we need to, maybe a fund raiser to upgrade to a newer/better software with more options/controls for the admin and moderators?

This is something we definitely want to be able to do, and will be able to do if/when we move to the current version of software.

Unfortunately, it's not as easy as flipping a switch, as we would like to keep many aspects of the site the way that they are.

Even though we already are by the very nature of the bikes we ride, that is not the intent of my suggestion. Being able to restrict members from certain sub-forums could be another perk of supporting membership and help stop the trolls. Both good things IMO.

Juliend, I know you guys will figure it out. Until then I can deal with the losers that just like to start trouble!

So far I think we are somewhat fortunate on this site. I haven't seen too many of 'em, and they don't usually last very long anyway compared to other dirtbike (or other) forum...
Plus we have a secrete weapon...we can unleash the Wibenator on'em trolls, that ought to be enough to scare'em away

We now have the ability to restrict access to individual forums by post count and/or donation level. I have no idea what forums should be restricted, and what that post count should be. Open to input!
