Fitment issues with 520 O-ring chain?

I am using a new 520 O-ring chain. I was reading on a different forum that the kdx needs a narrow 520 X-ring chain. Anyone else heard this? Anyone have issues with a 520 oring chain eating up the case at counter shaft?

I’ve run a couple of different brand 520 o ring chains without issues. I wonder if those 2 orings that sit behind the counter shaft sleeve are worn out causing the front sprocket to have in and out play. The chain on my bike now is a D.I.D 520 oring and it measures 17.8 mm wide at the link and 20 mm wide at the pins.

It is a known issue that some o-ring chains will hit the case on the KDX. That's why x-ring chains are recommended as they give just a little more clearance.

Good info, thanks guys! I almost always use D.I.D chains. I found that the D.I.D 520 ervt xring is considered narrow. Going to give it a try.

I've run RK, and even Primary Drive, X-ring chains with plenty of clearance.
