Yes there's another purple KDX enthusiast who is taking over the logistical/fulfillment portion of the work, he's got a small business and sells on ebay regularly, and is more able to handle 55-65 individual payments and packaging and shipping than what I have time for.
I was going to see if Jeff Fredette was interested in handling this, but this guy popped up with interest in handling it, and Jeff nor anyone else showed interest in initiating a large batch purchase of these, so this made sense.

I'll post updates as they come along, but this is going to happen most definitely now.

This is great. I have a 96 with the purple, and I found purple UFO front and rear fender (yes - rear!!! it took 7 years of searching ebay!) I would like to buy a set of new shrouds to replace my scuffed ones (plus a gillimoto purple tank). I'd post a pic of my bike but I don't want to make you purple-lovers green with envy

I've been following this thread all along and thank you so much for making this happen. I'd love for all of the plastics to be remade by UFO in purple, including frame guards. I'd buy at least one of everything. But realistically, that's not happening. So congrats and thanks for your persistence in making these shrouds happen.

Do you have any contact info or a link to this person's ebay store? Whenever he has them I want to buy a set.

He was planning on listing them on eBay and through other avenues.
He ordered 80, although before he showed interest, I had just gotten up to a quantity of 80 total requested but obviously that might be overstated since that was not backed up by people's money ahead of time. Jason has 4 KDX's so these may go quickly if everyone was serious about their commitment. I was kind of hoping he might order closer to 90+!
I doubt they have began production yet so if somebody wanted more than just one set, now would be the time to perhaps add a few more to the batch as UFO will not touch anything non-stock without a minimum of 50 pieces (or pairs) made. Technically their minimum is 70, but they said they would make an exception for 50 a batch of 50 in this case.

Well... shipment #1 of 4 has landed in the USA direct from the UFO factory in Italy!
Jason Jacobson is handling the payments and fulfillment of these shroud orders. He will be putting up a Facebook Marketplace ad for them and may list some on ebay, as well as likely advertising them in all of the KDX Facebook groups.

Based on my initial feelers for the group purchase netting over 50 people interested and up to 80 sets requested, Jacob decided he would just not hassle with pre-order payments and went ahead and prepaid the order in full all by himself. Anyone who has requested a set should jump on it ASAP.
He said that if this goes well and they sell in a reasonable amount of time in full, he may go ahead and place another bulk purchase of probably 50 purple fenders front and rear.

I just ordered a set. Jason packaged them up yesterday so I don't have them in my hand yet, but he seems like a really nice guy and is a fellow KX/KDX enthusiast.

I was excited about the PC pipe, am excited about the shrouds, and really hopeful even more purple stuff will come, like the fenders. And if that all goes well, what about purple headlight surround, side panels, and frame guards !?! radiator vents? And then Clarke or IMS makes a perfect factory repo of the purple tank. Oh yeah, and color-correct fork boots. A guy can dream!

Gilimoto in Brazil currently makes a reproduction of the purple tanks. Unfortunately they decided to use the KTM style plastic screws to hold the petcock in, instead of their original batch of green KDX tanks that had threaded brass inserts. Apparently they thought the threaded brass inserts were problematic. I've had tanks that had both pulled out brass inserts from the plastic, as well as a KTM tank with stripped out threads with the plastic auger type screws. I would prefer the brass to be honest. They said they could make purple KDX tanks with the brass inserts but they would cost $280 instead of $200.
All of their tanks use the threaded brass inserts for all of the other holes for mounting the tank, shrouds, and seat. It's just the purple tanks that they opted to use the plastic auger type steel screws to thread into the bare plastic with no brass insert. The two people that I know that have got these were a bit disappointed although they said they worked perfectly fine with no problem sealing
