Re: FMF Turbine Core Leak at the bracket
Molly’s, the silencers were supposed to be delivered back to me Monday and I got home from a ride yesterday and there they were. I love when that happens.
The one had cracks near the bracket and the other just a hole at the weld. The work you did looks so nice!! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. Instead of asking for any money he asked me to make a donation to the site which is a great idea. I’m going to donate $100.
USPS charged me $13.40 each way for priority mail. 2 pipes taken apart so just sent the front part cris crossed in an X in a 18x14x4 box. I expected the shipping to be more. I’ll post some pics of the nice work.

Re: FMF Turbine Core Leak at the bracket
Here are some pictures of the pipes when I got them back from Molly’s 70.
Before sending them off for repair and to burn out anything that was in there I hit them with a torch until they were red hot. That’s why they’re both blued like that.
The one in the first picture had a leak around the weld and the other one had that plus cracks running down from the weld on both sides of the metal bracket.

Re: FMF Turbine Core Leak at the bracket
Not my prettiest work, but this was maintenance welding. The material was thin & chrome plated. I tried to make sure there were not any craters from the tungsten when I terminated the weld.
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
