Lower fork leg restoration and best new Rim choice

Post by Racer73 »

I am a newbie on here doing a full restoration on a 95 KDX 200 and have a couple questions. I have my forks cleaned up as best as possible but the light gold anodized finish on them is worn in spots and has scratches. Am I better off to remove it completely or what are other choices? I am considering replacing my rims/spokes and would like to stay with the original silver color rims. I am only going to trail ride forest roads and not race it so who is a good supplier of direct fit silver rims and spokes?
Thanks
Clay

Light gold? Stock forks are silver.

Can you post a picture? Hopefully no one pulled a switcharoo on the forks (and wheel, etc.)

Very light gold color almost like anodize. Everything appears stock and original

Well, they are not stock. Like KDXGarage said, all conventional forks on the KDX were silver. Unless someone did something custom to the OEM forks but it still wouldn't stock per se. Post up some pics and let's see what you got. Tops, sides, and the feet so that you don't end up buying something that won't fit.
