Just bought this 1995 KDX from a family member, anything I need to worry about with this bike?

Nothing in particular to worry about with the 200. The chain needs to be tightened, the throttle cable routing is wrong, and I would rotate the shifter one spline clockwise so it sits a little higher up. The throttle cable should be running along the left side of the tank. Once it’s in place you’ll see there’s still wiggle room for it and it’s not trapped between the tank and frame. I’d check the brakes and grease the swingarm and linkage bearings. Check the engines compression so you know where you stand. If the compression is down there’s no use trying to jet the carb. A service manual is always good to have if it didn’t come with it.

It’s a little hard to tell in the pic but it looks like the front sprocket is worn. With the chain looking the way it does and the adjusters already being as far as they are I would do new chain and sprockets.

What John_S said. Nothing really. Rock solid reliable bikes. Just do the usual maintenance stuff and you'll probably be good to go.

However, it's always a good idea to thoroughly go through a new bike just so you know what condition everything is in. Check and lube your suspension, linkage, and head stem bearings. Check your wheel bearings for any wiggle. Checking your jetting (main, pilot jet, needle and it's clip position) and write down what it has for future reference. Pull the expansion chamber and take a look up the cylinder exhaust port to get an idea on the condition of the piston and maybe even do a compression check. It's also a really good idea to have the suspension serviced and proper springs installed for your weight and don't forget to set your SAG afterward!

Now, from your pic, the only thing I can see that might be of concern is excessive chain slack and the possible condition of it and the sprockets. Also get that throttle cable routed properly.

Looks like a pretty nice bike overall! I really dig the Oem graphics of that year.

Congratulations on the KDX.

Do the normal maintenance on a newly acquired bike. Check it all out so you know where it is at for a baseline. What the family member told you means nothing. :-)

and I forgot, make sure the air filter is not 25 years old or dry. The oil is what catches the dust and dirt. If dirt gets through, it will wear the engine out quickly.
