what carb do i have?

Post by sandman »

recently bought a 1996 kdx200. I want to start tuning my carb but am not sure which one I have. It is a Keikin PWK with V980 A1EQ stamped on it. I don't want to assume it is stock and after reading many posts on this site I see 35, 36, airstryker, quad vent. Thanks

Well you can pretty easily tell if it's an air striker or quad vent, and you could measure it to determine the size. Start there.

Did some research and found if it's got 2 vents it's not a quad or an air striker (not stryker). If it has fins on intake it is a striker. I have 2 vent lines. Next I need to determine exactly where to measure to verify if my carb is 35mm.

Measure the inside diameter of the small end of the carb.
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Stock there was only one carb available on the 200, a PWK 35. Good thing to verify, though.
