Well for me $1600 is a no go. But if it helps anyone out here it was worth posting.

For $1,600, I could hire someone to get off his bike and come kick it for me.

one thing great about the KDX is once started there nearly impossible to stall and you could not stall it with a recluse on it

This is true. I have a rekluse and LHRB on my 05 200 and it is a joy to ride. I was funning with KDXGarage. What good is it if we can't joke around a little bit, huh?

I have an auto clutch and LHRB on my 220 also and agree, it is a joy to ride and it only shuts off when I fall (even then I have to let the bike lay there awhile usually before it dies). Late in an enduro when I'm exhausted, its becomes a much bigger deal!

Has anyone had time to persue the facebook site on the electric starter kit? I would still be interrested in seeing how much[$] to add the kit to a 05 200 model. THANKS!!!

Soo.... I may be speaking too soon, but I might be getting an electric start kit from Brazil! Have been talking to a friend down there that is planning on getting one as well. It looks to be a lot nicer than the first one I saw, uses a factory Honda starter motor, just needs a left side cover made for the stator and starter chain. I will be getting more info on it next month and will be sure to share what I can. Lot of unknown details at this point, but I was too excited to keep my mouth shut. Heck, I don't even know the gentleman's name who came up with it yet to give him credit! I think it will be around $500 US, not including importing to the states + other stuff I'll have to source on my own.

Bit the bullet and bought a 2021 KLX 300R. Just happen to be visiting my local Kawasaki dealer and he had one on the showroom floor. Made the mistake of sitting on it. Didn't really want to, but with my right leg issues, I needed to do something. It is heavier than my KDX, but it has electric start, EFI, but it is green and it is new. It will be a few weeks before I can ride it, but it gives me time to fix it the way I want. Still have my KDX, so I will keep learking around you guys. Keep on BRAPPING!!!

Congrats! :supz: The KLX is the 4T cousin to the KDX so it's still family. Make sure to start a thread, post up some pics, and give us a review on it.

Here's a sneak shot I got of that e-start set-up. I've heard its an OEM Honda starter and it bolts right up to the cases

Fabricating a flywheel cover is going to be a real pain with that setup. I'd be a little leary of the drive chain in that setup being constantly in motion, unless there is some sort of freewheel mechanism on the inboard side of the flywheel drive pulley. definitely interested to see how it all goes together and works.
