I had a buddy of mine drop his 2002 KDX 220 off to me, Problem was : running and just died.
Carburetor was gummed up pretty good, bad gas in tank , to much oil in transmission.
After cleaning and replacing oil and checking spark bike would still would not start.. great compression.I switched voltage regulator and igniter still nothing, but did notice spark was a little BLUE , pulled magneto and found woodruff key had snapped and magneto spun on crank. Replaced woodruff key and immediately broke it after 30 seconds of run time. Inspected magneto to find it’s wallowed from spinning on crank.
What a mission this was but super stoked . New Magneto in the way with woodruff.
