Wheels

It seems like each upgrade increases my questions exponentially.

Should I snag a full tire wheel assembly off ebay, or buy a whole new assembly to fit my kx fork?

Any brand/dealer alliances? I'm looking at a warp 9 on RMATV for 155, but still need axle and bearings right?

Plus the wheel assembly . . . any veterans at that task?

Then, does my KDX disc and brake assembly fit?

scheck,

I still don't know what a sticky is, but those threads are intense. It's pretty cool to go back a few years and read about you guys figuring this stuff out . . . an here I thought the knowledge was genetic.

yes it's pretty intense but very helpfull. I went through that myself, a necessary pain IMHO
I like to be prepared before I start a project like that, then the whole project goes like a breeze.

Genetic? Not entirely - part nature, part nuture.

Ebay will be cheaper, but you will have to be patient and wait until all the parts come along.

looking at aftermarket wheels for KX, I see varying sizes. Any preferences there? Also, is a "motocross" wheel truly that, or is it a good woods wheel also?

I don't think there is a "woods" specific wheel. MX is the only choice and they are for all off-road bikes.

21x1.60 front and 18x2.15 rear is the most common choice for off-road. Some people use a 19" rear wheel.

In comparison to MX, most off-road/woods riders will use extra HD tubes and run a little higher air pressure to combat flats and pinch flats from hitting rocks, roots, etc. Other than that both MX and off-road use the same tires and wheels. Maybe you should ask the board what the best tire is for off-road :-)
