This is a bit off the subject but I thought I would mention some tools that work well for installing and removing o rings and other smaller parts. I bought a set of picks from Snap On years ago. They look kind of like dental picks. I got a set of 8 picks. One has a spooned end and the others have different angles and tips. They make jobs like this a whole lot easier.

Now I also clean my own teeth with them. A touch of 2 stoke oil on the tips and away I go!

:supz: I knew you were a cowboy.

I have some lime green handled TAIWAN picks. $3.99 at Harbor Freight. They aren't real good, but they got the o-rings off the output shaft on my '94.

Good Idea with the picks dave I never thought of that. My dads a dentist so I'm sure he has some old ones laying around. :supz:

But back to the original topic, SMG have you confirmed that both o-rings are in there?

Jason wrote:SGM, how long have you had your front sprocket off? I had noticed that my bike weeped a little over time from that area, but I just noticed that since I have had the front sprocket off, it has somewhat pooled up along the bottom edge. I have had the front sprocket off for 6 months or so.
sprocket has been off since mid-january. I need to get the wheels back on so I can get it off the stand and drain the oil before I change the seal. makes sense the sprocket keeps pressure on the seal but it still seems like it's not the seal. it pools in the lowest groove of the case, about an inch below the seal and the seal is dry. I should know by the end of the week.
