I am changing my 02's gearing from a 13/52 to a 13/50. My 2nd day air 50 rear from Fredette showed up yesterday. Putting it on today. Testing it out tomorow and monday.

2 teeth should be plenty to give you more top end pull, but a drastic change it is not. God knws the 220 needed a little more top anyway!

with all of the mods I have on the 02 220, the top was fairly good. 5th and 6th went pretty fast and only put me at 64mph. But top speed is not what im concerned about. I want to get the front end up a bit easier for logs. With the 13/52, by the time the weight gets transferred to the rear and the front unloads, you end up at the top of the gear your in. So, you really have to be in the right place in your gear to work it. Timing is a bit too crucial. 13/50 will make it more compliant. Also getting the front up and keeping it up longer and easier will make me more of a Hot Shot!

the 13/50 was perfect for my style of riding. Wish I had tried this long ago.

12/49? Green,what do you do tow the trailer with that gearing?

14/50 for me. I ride mostly first gear stuff up here but I've hit 4th gear going through the woods acouple times. I've tapped it out in the desert a few times before, I couldn't imagine going any lower.

I guess a 4.08 is not a whole lot lower than a 4.00.

If you have not tried the 13/50, I would say go for it.
