Well sold my car and picked up my new bike tonight! I went "modern" and picked up an 2003 KDX220! Now it's time to start collecting aftermarket parts! Forks are on the way as is the new seals. Pipe and spark arrester are next. Then I'm going to look into a set of black rims.

Yeh!

My mistake, for some reason I was thinking jafo had a 88 instead of an 84. Either way your going to be happy with the new bike. Get the usual mods done and its a screamer.

Forks are 'on the way'? What...the bike you bought came without forks?

You're going to USD the thing without even riding it?

Nothing like hitting it with a great exhuberance!!!

Yeah..you'll like it.

Next time (when you want a real bike)...consider a 2-hunny! ;)

Thanks guys, pipes on the way as is the spark arrester. Going with an FMF Forestery approved spark arrester and an FMF Gnarly Desert Pipe. I already have the Renthal bars and Acerbbis hand guards, just got to transfer them from the old bike to the new one. I'm going to look into some Excel Wheels also.

Hey where can I find some graphics kits for the KDX? I have a Rocky Mountain catalog but they only have KX graphics. I'm getting a gripperseat also.

When I get going in a direction I tend to go all the way. I like to be ready for about any situation.

OK, OK, there they are. New bike. Got the Renthal bars on and the Accerbiss hand guards too. Now I'm waiting on my KX 250 forks, pipe and spark arrester. Got a skid plate also.

Hey, I'm looking a one of those Boyensen Reed valve kit. Is there other things like jetting I'll have to mess with or will the reed valve kit work good just with the stock jetting?

Looks nice there jafo!
Any reason why you wouldn't go for the Delta Force III reeds that everyone raves about? :?

I looked at some dyno results on the Boyensen web site and seen that they were superior to other reeds. Of coarse there might have been alittle bias going on there, they want to make money. I have'nt heard to much about the Delta Force reeds. The Boyensen kit is $120. It includes the reeds and reed valve. Does the Delts Force come with the reed valve also?

I checked out the MXSouth site for the graphics. I did'nt find what I was looking for. I'm looking for graphics the bold letters spelling out "KDX" for the radiator shrouds. I have'nt found any yet though I've seen them on bikes before.

There's a HUGE write up about 'em here: http://kdx.woodsrider.net/viewtopic.php?t=23

CC, SKI, Farmerj, myself and I'm sure bradf and other are running them too. They far outperform the Boysen's. It's cage and reeds also and about the same price.

The 97-98 standard graphics are a bit plain but they have KDX in bold letters.

The Delta Force 3 is indeed the entire reed cage and reeds.

The Delta Force 3 has only recently been released. IE Alot newer technology in reed cage design. Just a few reason why I personally would choose the DF3.

Yes Bradf LOVES the DF3 that replaced the Boyesens. Together with the RB (and the knifty knurled knobbed AS adjuster) he found true dirtbike nirvana.
