First, let me say I am no expert. I think the centiStokes scale is for measuring the viscosity of the fluids. That is what it looks like to me. The first chart shows the fluid at 40 degrees C, then at 100 degrees C. The stock fluid is supposedly Kayaba 01. The properties for it are listed. If one wanted suspension oil based on viscosity to be similar, then one can look at the chart and find an oil close to it, or know what to expect from a different oil. I guess this chart springs from the SAE ratings not being very accurate. I know that some folks have used straight Mobil 1 ATF in their forks. This chart shows it as being about twice as viscous as Kayaba 01. I know some suspension tuners were using a blended mix, in which they would use Mobil 1 cut with other fluid for thinner oil, plus perhaps their own brew of additives.

I hope it is not boring techno-babble. Perhaps it will get a little conversation going. Again, I am no expert. I just read, read, read.
