My bike bogs down I guess you could say at higher rpms. it makes a fast thumping or rattle and stops accelerating. Also, some black oil or residue leaks from the muffler. I thought that might be due to the fact that it is 14 yrs old and never been cleaned, but someone suggested it is caused by rings needing to be changed. Its a 93 Kdx 250 and I mix 32:1 like the manual and the man I bought it said to do.

I'd certainly tear down the top end and inspect it if nothing else. If its still on the original top end then i'm sure its due for a change. Might as well check the condition of the carb and reeds while your in there.
