Coolant hoses not pressurized. Just as squishy hot as cold. UPDATE: was as simple a new 1.8 bar radiator cap.

Then you have a leak somewhere. Cap, hose connections, head gasket, something.

The cap appears fine and I haven’t lost coolant in the radiator or the expansion tank. I’d think if it was the head gasket the cooling system would be pressurized.

Is there a way you can determine the temperature? One of those IR guns might be useful here. I thought I saw radiator caps with built in thermometer.
Might not be hot enough to get up to pressure.

Good idea and the temps have been in the 80s and 90s and judging how how the engine is the coolant must be up to temp. Every water cooled small engine I have came across, the hoses were pressurized.
