Kdx Kickstarter

I know there is lots of info regarding swapping out the stock kdx Kickstarter to the kx125 one but I'm not a fan on the short levers and it's too expensive here in Australia, I was thinking of taking a kx250f or kx450f and bending the lever to suit by heating it up in my forge, anybody see any issues with this and could anybody tell me the length of the straight section of the stock kdx200 Kickstarter .
