I bought a kdx 220 quiet clean inside my piston has A top I take it this is standard

That looks like the stock piston.

Did the previous owner mention head work? Does a stock head look that good??

Totally standard wiseco piston arriving tomorrow bike only done 4000 miles I put motul 5100 in gearbox 10/40 the clutch slipped really bad

Did you clean the piston top while it was still attached? Sounds risky.

Measuring the piston diameter before ordering another piston would have been a good thing, just in case.

Which 10w-40 did you use?

I am a big fan of putting motorcycle oil in motorcycles. :grin:

If gearbox oil has friction modifiers, this may cause clutch slippage. Many on this forum use ordinary Type F ATF with good results.

That should be fine, it's rated for wet clutch. I would check your clutch spring free length and the disc thicknesses.

You lot over there seem to like ATF oil never used it before but seems to work well on reviews so will try it soak new clutch overnight

Yep, that should have worked just fine. Like was mentioned, measure everything to see if all is in spec.

I use the Honda "red bottle" HP transmission oil
2000 Kawasaki KDX220R
1996 Kawasaki KDX200
