When I bought the kdx the previous owner warned me the kick start misses every 5 kick he gave me a new cog with spring to which the kick start attachs before I tear into motor is there any other cog or part I may need.😀

It’s hard to say for sure. Did he give you the gear or the ratchet part? And there’s 2 springs. A return spring and a spring that pushed the ratchet to the gear.

I would have a dremel handy and look at how well the teeth mesh into each other. Lightly grind down where necessary to make the teeth nice and square with each other. Try not to shorten them.

I have a cog with a spring if that makes sense and a new kickstart bolt

I'd try putting it all together and see how well it works. It's a lot easier to install and remove if you take off the clutch basket too.

Are these parts new in the package?

Do they have a part number?

There are several threads on here about slipping kickstarters. Over time, they do wear down.
