Been a long time 2 stroke fan having owned/raced a few but added a few 4 strokes now, I enjoy project bikes to restore.
After getting to crash a friends kdx way back when, seeing the you tube vid of the kdx being ridden in Torture Test Magaine it got the fire started..

Been watching the sweet kdx restoration vids, now that I’m looking there isn’t a kdx for sale close to home lol!
This one almost near me was sold just as I started looking

That’s a good running 220. What did it sell for?
Are you out in Ca?

That was one of the videos that steered me towards getting a KDX instead of a Beta 300RR I'd been wanting for several years. I also purchased the Torture Test article related to the video, which is a good read and has some good info. He really shows what a KDX is capable of and how reliable it is, and that I don't "need" a 300RR since I will never max out the full capabilities of my KDX.

In the other vid, I was hoping that dude was going to do a stoppie in the middle of the road after his little wheelie.

It sold for $2600 iirc. It sounded decent, looked set up well.
Yeah dry desolate so cal ughhhh
Kdx selling in my area is pretty thrashed, located one in az but it appears it moved to Colorado
So still on the hunt

My stoppie days were putting my foot in between the forks & front tire of my bicycle like in the beginning of on any Sunday!

Get one and do a frame up rebuild on it. That's what I did with my 2000 KDX220 and I know its like a brand new bike and I still have less in it than a used KTM. I would take a KDX200 or KDX220 over a KTM anyway. I recently bought a 1996 KDX200 I am going to do a frame up rebuild on too.

Its well worth the money to fix these bikes up.

I used this for braking more than a few times.

I think these bikes are Work horses seeing them all over getting built & rebuilt raced trail ridden by quite a few. Amazing underdog of a machine compared to newer expensive orange machines. Looking forward to the smell of castor premix & this vid represents these bikes pretty well

They have quite the pedigree.

That "KDX files - back from the dead" video is probably the best KDX video on youtube.

Gotta admit watching these vids made me question whatever I saw in purchasing a klx250s. The kdx bikes are so much lighter & faster, better handling everywhere, that last vid is a great representation of its off road capabilities.. good rider for sure :supz:
