AC-DC 200E

Post by bribie53 »

some electrical help please..I'm doing a street legal conversion for my 94 KDX200e..going to run a small battery for light/horn/indicators [all LED except for headlight] etc.. bought a rec/reg to get the DC output..Question is I the STD regulator puts out AC to the CDI and coil..when I put in the new rec/reg that has DC output the coil/CDI will now be getting a DC current..is this a problem?? or do you just run two complete seperate systems??

Please don't post the same question at the end of an old thread, as well as in two new posts in two separate subforums. One new thread is fine.

Thanks, and good luck with the electricity.

You want to keep your lighting and ignition circuits separate. You will need to ground all your lighting circuit to your battery and not the frame. The post above has good info, and there are several more here on the forum that deal with this conversion.
