This sucks. I almost have my jetting straightened out from the last round of mods. (Too many at once.) and here comes a new cage that supports the elusive bottom end better.
Hmmm. Should I risk pulling the rest of my hair out?

Ok, the DF III is in and it is just too freakin cold to ride. Highs in the mid 30's. Bike started up just fine.

The MT site says no jetting changes required? Is this true?
I am still running stock jetting right now with an FMF gnarly rev, turbinecore 2, and air box lid holes. Bike runs GREAT and is very fast.

Would I still stay with stock jetting with the DF3?

Thanks,
Phil

Wow, you're running stock jetting and the bike is "very fast"? I wonder how much faster it would be with different jetting...you are one of the first people I have heard of who are happy with stock jetting. Personally, my bike resembled a mosquito-spraying truck with stock jetting!

The DFIII will not correct bad jetting. Neither will you need to adjust your jetting due to it's installation. That's not to say you shouldn't confirm this though, with a few checks.

Well it was not that fast with the stock pipe, but as soon as I put the FMF ganrly rev on it works great.

Hell FMF and Fredette even recomended stock jetting with the fmf rev pipe, turbinecore 2 silencer, and air box mods...

You didn't say..but you have a 220 I presume? Isn't OEM jetting a lot closer to correct (with airbox/pipe) on the 220 than the 200 is?

Running a jet-set that someone said to isn't doing you any favors. If it's right, it's only by chance. Different bikes of the same model..same year will often jet differently. Throw in the rider variable (that matters) and you will end up with all sorts of different possibilities.

However it runs now, it would run a whole lot better if it was tuned correctly. You just plain cannot make it run as good as is possible with what you have....the needle being a huge part of that equation.

But...if it suits you, it tickles me!

Phil, hope I didn't open a can of worms there...your bike might be "spot on", but my 200 smoked like a chimney and spooged like an oil well with stock jetting. I read through hours of info on jetting and realized I wasn't the only person with that problem.

I've got a pretty standard setup (Gnarly pipe, Turbine Core II S/A, airbox mods, etc) and stock jetting is too rich for my bike. But like CC says, if you like your ride, that is all that matters. :supz:

With the wide range of jetting folks have used to get their bike right, it only stands to reason that the stock jetting would work on some bike out there some where. Sounds like you might be that guy.

Woohoo! Lucky me.
I am very happy with it, but perhaps I will play around with it more when summer is here.

Also for jetting, keep in mind I am in Canada. It is not hot up here, and I am near sea level...
