I need a 220 head mod. RB Designs is not accepting new work at this time. The real question is "Is RB slowing down" and ""retiring"" or just backlogged...after all he is in his 70's.

What other options are available?

Does anyone have first-hand experience with Fredette's head mod? Is it a good alternative?

Fredette has won more races on a kdx than any mortal Alive ....his work & knowledge is his testament...
Give him the head & cylinder from your 220 & get him to work his magic, if he does carbs then get him to do that too ( or just fit the 35mm off the 200 ) you'll be surprised just how well a tuned 220 will perform..! :supz:

To give you a hint at how long he has been doing it, I bought something from him at W, L & J in 1989.

I had Fredette modify the head, port the cylinder, and bore the carb on my old 220. Amazing transformation.

We had a full fredette race engine in the white hybrid, it was a handful, for woods racing we prefered the 220 stock with a pro circuit pipe and shorty mx silencer and a 200 carb, way more controllable. For mx the white 220 was perfect
