I still don't see how a radial bearing would do that.

You might want to take the rotor and stator plate off and inspect the seal.

Makes no sense to me either. Any chance of elaborating on that theory David ?

Lateral movement is being allowed, or restrained by both bearings. If the clutch side is good, the crank wont move.

Vertical movement is only allowed, or restrained by the side being tested. He is prying on the stator side, so the clutch side can not restrain movement on the stator end.

Used KOR for a crank rebuild. It was for a yz125, came back looking brand new and in tighter spec then OEM. Dropped it off to him on a Thursday morning, got a call the next day it was done. Never used him for a replate though.

Never done that before. What is needed to perform the tests?
I'm putting one together with parts from Amazon (parts list below)...

(For plugging the exhaust - you can get these individually at a auto parts store)

(For plugging the intake - sold individually at an auto parts store. I'll drill and tap it for the hose barb))

I just had my replating done by Millennium - it's perfect. RB Designs did my crank rebuild. $45 and fast turn around. Ron does great work too!

I sent him 2 cranks and 2 ProX Rod Kits. Shipping from WA state to OR was about $15. Ron charges $30 return shipping on top of the $45 rebuild cost. He fit both cranks in one box, so my return shipping was half of normal.

For crank rebuilds I can personally recommend RB Designs or Ken OConner. The place in Texas had a chance and screwed up big time and I wont go there again.

Very interested to hear how it was screwed up? Andrew has been always top notch and everyone in my club uses him as well. Literally, you are the first I have ever heard say anything negative about him.

It was dirty and the runout was only within service limits. I had to true it up to get it within specs and clean it.

Weird. Did he e-mail you picks of the runout before he shipped it back? He has always done this with every crank I have sent him. Cranks have always come back clean, and oiled, and very well packaged as well. I wonder what happened that your crank ended up like that. Did you contact him and give him a chance to take care of you?
