But, I'm watching my 50" Plasma TV. Just got a new toy for it, a NetFlix player. Pretty cool. You can instantly download movies, TV seasons, etc. Heck, I think I can save $50 and cancel my cable TV service! $8 a month for a 1 disc at a time NetFlix account and I can download instantly as much as I want. WhooooooWheeeeeee!!!

So come on down and help me get my bearings in.

HERCULINER

It's a really hard coating, you can't scrape it with a fingernail, least on the frame

***EDIT***

Can't scrape it off the side panels either

Re: 'It's a really hard coating.'

Put some on your brake pads!

You putting in four bearings at the swingarm pivot...or two? OEM on the H model is two to a side. The pivotworks kit puts one on a side (wider bearing).

I hope I'll have all the pieces to start putting mine back together sunday. Probably going to trailer it over to my buddies so I can use his big heated garage. My garage is crammed full o' junk and it's COLD out there. If I could get that damn arctic cat sold I'd have some space!

Got my power valve today and the lil brass screw

$44

More things I take apart the more things I find fubar

One front wheel bearing was bad and the rubber on the seal turned into gelatin

I was gonna get some nonsynthetic oil at the parts shop, but the owner/mechanic said it's really not necessary on 2 strokes to use nonsyn on break in since the cylinder coatings are so hard

Interesting. I was just researching that and the consensus was to use a non-synthetic oil.

Wibbs, did you replate/hone your cylinder? Do you have pic of what it looks like before you snap it back on?

I've always heard that around here ??

Wiseco says use the oil you normally use

Lucas is semi-syn, so there you go

I'll get some pics later

Same old cylinder, have not done a thing to it

I don't switch oil for break in. I understand the question as being whether synthetic oil is actually TOO good for seating the rings. I figure at 9k rpm those rings are going to seat.

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Did that ^ on a couple different bikes recently and have been pretty convinced so far. If you'd presented that to me a couple years ago I would have called you an idiot. Any more I figure what the hell, I'll try anything once. Twice if it works well the first time, and if it keeps working then I'm sold.

There are just as many break in procedures as there are stars in the sky. The same goes with the debate over Dino vs. Synthetic

Dino does not have the sheer strength synthetic does and that is why I use it for break in.

Do what makes you feel good.
