TAIL/BRAKE bulb

Hi, I am trying to figure out what bulb is correct for my89 kdx200. its a 1158 I believe but 6v or12v??? thanks a million in advance

It's a 12 volt bulb. I thought it was an 1156 type IIRC.

It is the single filament 12 volt.

No brake light as standard on 89 E series or later H series KDX. If this is wanted, you'll have to modify bulb socket and fit dual filament bulb, and brake switch(es). Also, std 40 watt lighting coil may not have enough power for the headlight and brake light.

Online searching on this site and elsewhere has much on this subject including rewinding stock coil for more output, and firms like Ricky Stator that offer higher output lighting coils.
