Bought a project 1995 KDX a couple weeks ago and have started a total restoration. I have been out of dirt bikes since the early 90's and got the bug to get back in. I'm 63 and retired and have the time to restore this bike and hopefully ride it in Northern Michigan starting next year. I was heavy into dirt bikes in the 70's and 80's but got out when life and my career took over. My last bike was a 1986 KTM 125 EXC which was a great bike. I bought my KDX for $500 and it was rough. entire bike had been painted flat black and unbeknownst to me the engine case is broke and needs to be replaced. The frame is out for powdercoat now and I am rebuilding/restoring all the chassis parts first then onto the motor. If anyone has a nice set of cases, please let me know. Hope to be riding in the Lewiston, Michigan area next year at our cabin.
