A few years back my 75 year old father sold his beloved 1996 KDX200. Well I tracked it down, bought it back and have been bringing it back to its glory.
I’ve gone through it all Mechanically, had the suspension rebuilt, replaced all the plastics, new brakes, tires, wheel bearings and a few other little things. This winter I may have the frame powder coated, but we will see.
I’ve included a few before and after pics so far. I have one purple shroud. Lol. I’ll hold on to that Gem in hopes of a miracle and finding the other one somewhere.

Re: Bringing a family heirloom back
Thanks guys. I’m torn if I want to fully restore it, which will make me not want to ride it, or just stop where I’m at with it and continue to make memories on it.

You can do a full restoration and still ride it, ya know! Then you get to restore it again every 5-8 years or so (depending on how much you ride) and it's a nice walk down memory lane.
