Hello, All!
New KDX200 owner here, just picked up a 96 and went over most of the easy stuff (fluids, etc.) cleaned the carb and all that. Still a little tough starting, but it seems like it will scream on the trails when we get it into the mountians.
I'm in the Colorado Springs area, in case anyone wants to reach out and maybe take a ride. Lots of information I've learned from the folks on this site, hope I can contribute in the future.

Welcome to kdxrider.net. Thank you for joining and participating!
Did you clean the carb with a Berryman's dip or similar? There is a hidden o-ring that gets eaten up when sat in a strong dip.

Happy to hear you joined the forum! I live just east of the Springs and do quite a bit of riding in the divide area. Just did a poker run a few weeks ago on the trails in the north Rampart area. Maybe we can meetup for a ride one of these days.

Re: Good morning from Colorado!
Im always down for a meet up! Even if it is just an introductory coffee or something like that. Not super familiar with forums and stuff, so if I'm missing something, just let me know. I've got some pretty thick skin-or no feelings, I'm not sure which.
I bathed the carb in good old Pine Sol, as I have done with previous carbs/bikes, including my 98 KLR650 I rebuilt from the ground up. Pine sol does a good job at getting the varnish out of there, and leaves the rubber bits alone.

Well, I don't know what I did besides run about 16 oz of 32:1 fuel through it, adjusted the idle and let it run for a bit. Yesterday and today it was a one kick starter. Relieved!
