Traded a 01 wr250f for a 93 kdx200

Post by DCKilla »

I saw the writing on the wall and switched sides. Plus, the thing is much easier to start. So, here i am. Hi, I'm a 40 year old novice dirt rider from Washington. I've been riding motorcycles since 2011 and dirt since 2018.

Yesterday, i traded my wr for this kdx. I wanted a lighter and easier starting bike. A trade seemed reasonable mid season. I'm happy with the out come.

I love wrenching my bikes. So, this thing gives me an excuse to go do that. I already have plans to replace some worn or damaged parts of the bike. None of it super critical, so, it won't keep me down. I'll keep the fuel the same for now. At least until i get some more seat time on the thing. I also have fastway pegs from my old wr. I'll be doing a slight mod to the pegs to make them fit. Surprisingly, it'll be very little work. I'll post that small project in a week or so.

Well, that's about it. I'm glad to be here.

Welcome to kdxrider!

Congratulations on the KDX.

In case you didn't know, the 1989 - 1994 models are very similar, so most (BUT NOT ALL) questions will apply to those models. There is a 1989 - 1994 section for specific questions, as well as a general section for general questions (oil, tires, chain and sprockets - that apply to all KDXs).

Again, welcome.
Thank you for participating on kdxrider.net. :bravo:

Congrats on the switch! I enjoy both 2 and 4 strokes, but the KDX always puts a big smile on my face. Have fun!

I’m interested to see the foot peg report. I have a 93 model in progress. In Oklahoma this is the season to float in the pool with a cool beverage but I’ll have my KDX ready for November.
