I already have an awesome 200, but I just couldnt resist this sweet 03' 220R I found with its original front tire, chain and sprockets, almost original everything and it even had the snorkel in. Bike looks really good after all these years and seems to run great right now. From the looks of it will only need some fine tuning. Its amazing ho much easier this bike is to work on than the bike it replaced in my garage, the 04 CRF250X. Braaaaaaapppp!

DANG!

Congratulations on the clean KDX220R!

As I am fond of saying... check the chain tension. :-)

Nice, very clean 220. As is the usual reply (aside from KDX saying chain tension) replace the OEM piston if it has not been done

Nice! Glad that you added to the collection, and that is a sweet looking bike! It's kinda funny - I'm considering the same thing. I have a CRF 450R, but I found an '05 200, so I'm thinking about getting rid of the 450 and adding another KDX since I've wanted a 200 for quite a while. You can never have too many KDX's!

Thanks to all for the good wishes. My son will get to rip it for now. From what I was told the new piston has approx 25-30hrs on it. I do believe it has the stock jetting, so will prob lean it out a bit since Im at sea level.

My 200 will shred this bike in its current form. Its unreal what a difference the RB carb, exhaust and jetting did to the 200. I dont plan on going balls out with this 220. We got rid of our CRF250X because Junior was not into the maintenance, (oil changes lol). Says he likes the
"simple but sick" style.

Nice! I haven't performed any power mods on my 200 yet. I rebuilt the shock and the carb - got her running great with the snorkel out, oem pipe / FMF silencer. Plan to do the Belgian Valve Mod (Go Race's variation of the RT Gold Valve emulators) on the forks here pretty soon. Once I get the handling where I want - will see if I need more power. Kind of like the old OEM pipe, it takes a lot of abuse here in the Appalachians.

My current plan is to win the lottery and take new chains and sprockets to members. Wish me luck.

I pulled my pipe off and took a look at the piston! Crikey! It looked like the oem cast piston. PO said he never pulled the jug off and that to best of his knowledge it was the orig piston. He texted the PPO and he said he only cleaned the KIPS and put on new rings. Sweet! I get to do another top end. Ordered my Vertex gaskets, top end bearing and a Wiseco Pro Lite kit. Total damage: $160. I also got some Power Reeds 607, an hour meter and a Ricochet skid plate for my green girl.

Im happy that the cylinder looks good. My 200 cylinder ate alot of sand and really needed some nikasil from Powerseal. Glad I dont have to ship this one out
