Re: New member with 2004 kdx220r
Got the head back and put it on. It had 150 psi (at 4700’). Took it on a little ride and liked it but need to take it out for a few hours. I think the next thing i will get is a pipe and then the lectron. Wish the pipes would come back in stock.

Only pipe I would consider for the 220 is FMF Rev or “dessert” pipe. Lights up the bike.

As decluk13 mentioned, the Lectron has a cutout that allows it to fit under the frame. I bought mine about 1.5 years ago, and it works really well. I live at 6.5k and ride up to around 12k-13k feet. Like many others can testify on the forum, the Lectron is a nice improvement over stock, and with the elevation and temp changes in your area, you should love it. Yes, it's an expensive addition, but for me it's well worth it. Here are a few pics of my setup:

You could always get a Pro Circuit pipe for it. I had the RB head and carb mod done and run a full PC pipe/spark arrester and it rocks!

Just curious but if you wanted to ride woods, etc would you go up to Cedar City? Or somewhere else?Bardo wrote: ↑10:03 pm Oct 27 2020 I will get one of those manuals. I like St George born and raised here. Grew up ridding 2 strokes in the dessert in the early 90’s but havent done much ridding in years. Seems the kdx will be a great bike for trails. Need to get the jetting dialed. Probably will need to change it depending where im at -anywhere from 2,500’-10,000’ And 110 degrees to below freezing. But will be doing most my ridding at around 5,000’

Hey Bardo, the Lectron fits tight, but once it is mounted up there are no issues at all. Adjustments are quick and easy. You are correct, it is an expensive mod, but one that I would do again. I currently live around sea level but ride around 6-7k and the bike runs excellent all around.Bardo wrote: ↑11:26 pm Nov 21 2020 Finished the top end. The old piston was in good shape but now i dont have to wonder. Seems to have more power down low but i did put in some boyesen 607 reeds. Had to go to a 38 pilot jet. Put 2 hours on it. The old piston had 125psi at 4700’ havent tested the new one yet.
Any one use the lectron carbs? Found some threads from 2017/2018 seems people were having issues with them fitting. Are those issues worked out. Is it worth the money? I am thinking about one to deal with elevation changes.
