Hello everyone. I've actually been a member for a couple of months now, but never properly introduced myself. I had an 84 RM80 when I was sixteen years old and ran it into the ground. I took a long break from riding and I'm now 35 and just purchased my 98 KDX200 three months ago. I'm having a blast riding it and learning about it.

Welcome to the forum. If you know what forks those are, you might want to get some front brake cable guide(s).

Thank you! Those are 94 KDX200 forks with the blue anodizing removed as it turns out. I just put the stainless line on it and it definitely needs some guides. However, I just bought a 99 KX125 fork, axle and triple clamp assembly along with a hub so I hope to knock that conversion out in the near future.

I'm up here in NC (Lenoir), not tooooo terribly far away. I do get down that way sometimes to ride or race..... was just down there at GTR about a month ago. We'll have to ride sometime. I've got a buddy that lives in Columbia so I get down there to see him sometimes too

Thanks! I've been out to GTR a few times lately and I'll be out there again tomorrow. You should head on down. PM me if you decide to and we can meet up. I really want to get out to Brushy Mountain sometime soon.

I'm tempted to check it out, but not sure if I'm ready for any races yet.

Come on out and enjoy a day even if you don’t ride. You’ll still have fun. Look for me in the camping area, small black 5x8 cargo trailer with Kawasaki “3 Green Stripes” on the sides.

I've hear good things about the trail system out at CAW, but also heard that it's best to go on a weekday. Rumor has it that the weekend can get a little rowdy and not much in the way of common sense. Is that true, or just a rumor?

Been there once and zero desire to go back. It's all a bunch of drunk ATV and SxS that just ride around the wrong way on trails and mud bog, that's about it. I've "heard" they actually have some decent bike trails, but absolutely nothing is marked and the trail map is 110% useless for anything other than starting your campfire. Plus it's $40 something to get in now. Pass, lol. GTR and Manchester are both right in your back yard

That may be true as the few times I have been there were during the week. I always try to go during non-peak times since I have my younger boys with me. I much prefer Durhamtown Plantation in Georgia as it's much closer to me and better marked trail wise. CAW trails are decent but their markings (or lack thereof) can leave a little to be desired.

GTR and Manchester? Not familiar with GTR and I'm guessing Manchester refers to the State Forest. I didn't realize there were trails there open to motorcycles. Where is the trail head/parking area?

This confirms my suspicions. I would certainly like to hit them during the week sometime and this is the first I've hear of Manchester. I will certainly put it on my list too. Appreciate the input!

Hard to figure out on their site but you'll get it. Manchester is mostly sand, some of it deep. The whoops are the deepest I've ever ridden. It does have some good single track though. Trails are well marked. You'll need a permit which you can get online for like $5/day.
