New guy from New Brunswick Canada

Post by Fooloop »

Hey guys , new to the group and also new to kdx . I purchased a 1997 kdx 200 6 years ago and the guy gave me a parts bike. Turned out it was a 1991 kdx 200. Sold the 220 the same year and last summer decided to rebuilt the parts bike. Frame was broken so I bought a 1996 kdx 200 rolling chassis. Rebuilt the 91 engine and fit it in the 96 frame. Not pretty but works good for what I do. I would love one day to find a 2006 kdx 200. I still didn't tried her out yet but will do as soon the snow melts here in Canada. Happy riding !

Welcome to kdxrider.net.

What all did you do to get the older model engine in the last version frame? Thanks.

It's a 98% bolt on . Only thing I had the exhaust from the 1997 kdx 200. I had to cut it and make a different curve in the expension chamber.

Wow. Thanks for the info.

I imagine the pipe would take some work. The 1989 - 1994 pipes go up high in the middle-back. The 1995 and newer pipes go down. The shock reservoirs point out of the way for each pipe style.
