Well, after a few years away, I’m back. New owner of a 2003 KDX200. I found it off of Facebook from someone who thought it needed a new top end. Picked it up for $750, and from what I can tell, I’m happy with that deal. It’s pretty much stock. Stock exhaust, carb/jetting, suspension, controls, etc. Oh yeah, it’s plated for dual sporting. I ran a compression check on it and I’m seeing numbers above 150 psi. I don’t think that means the top end is done yet. What are your thoughts? The plug was covered in oil and black. I think it may have just been bad jetting and a fouled plug?
My last KDX’s were a 97 that needed to be put back together, but that was plated and only $600. Rode that for a few years before I had to sell it. Previous to that, I had a 2001 KDX220. That thing ripped and was a lot of fun. Had to sell it because of a move. So, yeah, I like these bikes. Life just doesn’t allow me to hold onto them for long.

Nice find. Bone stock means the PO probably was running 40:1 and never touched the carb so everything is very well lubricated lol. Wasn't ridden too hard, still has the stock rear fender with the lens and the tool bag Some really good riding not far from Bend, used to ride down there years ago when my grandparents lived there.

A lot of good riding near Bend. I lived there for nearly 9 years. I have since moved to Phoenix and there’s a lot here as well, just a little bit….hotter.

$750!!!
That's just crazy....and plated!
That is like winning the lottery there.
Don't know if I would just ride it and immediately dump about $2k into it.
Suspension rebuild, fresh fluids, flush the tank, rebuild the carb, new plug and air filter, new tyres and maybe splurge on new chain and sprockets send it>

I will.I need to find riding buddies in AZ.
I saw some of your videos, looks like you do quite a bit with AMRA. I've been interested in doing some races, but I'm pretty green and might reach out for some guidance.

There are lots of clubs up near Phoenix. Here's a list with contact info for all the AZ clubs on the AMRA website: https://amraracing.com/about/ I strongly suggest reaching out to Ghostriderz, Arizona Trail Riders, FAST'R, or the Rock Stars to find riding buddies.rowyco wrote: 03:41 pm Apr 12 2024I will.I need to find riding buddies in AZ.

As far as the racing, go for it! Let me know if I can answer any questions.
