Well, after a few years away, I’m back. New owner of a 2003 KDX200. I found it off of Facebook from someone who thought it needed a new top end. Picked it up for $750, and from what I can tell, I’m happy with that deal. It’s pretty much stock. Stock exhaust, carb/jetting, suspension, controls, etc. Oh yeah, it’s plated for dual sporting.

I ran a compression check on it and I’m seeing numbers above 150 psi. I don’t think that means the top end is done yet. What are your thoughts? The plug was covered in oil and black. I think it may have just been bad jetting and a fouled plug?
My last KDX’s were a 97 that needed to be put back together, but that was plated and only $600. Rode that for a few years before I had to sell it. Previous to that, I had a 2001 KDX220. That thing ripped and was a lot of fun. Had to sell it because of a move. So, yeah, I like these bikes. Life just doesn’t allow me to hold onto them for long.
