New KDX200 owner
1989, well cared for. My first 2 stroke
Such a fun bike... anyone interested in trading a woods pipe for my desert pipe?
Fully rebuilt engine, jetted, racetech suspension, "street legal"
Putting it through it's paces

Where abouts do you live? Is that actually CO? Somebody’s been busy with a chainsaw!
Reroute your front brake line inside your forks.
Personally, if your bike is tuned like you say, that Desert pipe will get it done for you. Maybe add the Fredette Torque Ring. Have you opened up the airbox yet? What sprocket ratios are you using? Seemed like it was running really good. Beefy radiators! Very nice machine!

Yes I need to reroute the brake line, it's on my list.
Not sure on the front sprocket but i have a 49 rear and the stock 47, i just put the 47 back on to try it, thats when i figured out it jas the desert pipe because i lost a lot of low end, so im going back to the 49 even though i feel like it tops out too quick with it.
Air box lid is gone, it does run great!
Thanks for the compliments it was owned by enthusiasts who really took care if it.

Re: New KDX200 owner
My setup looks very similar to yours, I’m not at your altitude in south-west Virginia though (2,100’). Fredette set me up with the jetting, Desert pipe, Radvalve, airbox mod & porting instructions etc. He also recommended the 46 tooth sprocket for hare scrambles and the Fredette Torque Ring that mounts between the pipe and the exhaust outlet. For trail riding and altitude the lower sprocket may be more appropriate.
One other trick that really helped was the #7 slide mod. My bike is a hole shot machine and lugs third really well, even with a big ol’ 120 rear tire.
I bet the torque pipe would help at elevation.

Nice looking KDX.
There was no Desert or Woods for the 1989 - 1994 models, just one version.
