New To Me

Post by Jacklegg »

Hello KDX Land. Just traded for a 1984 KDX 200. I’m new to riding and just interested in learning more about riding and my KDX. Very novice here. Been on a bike 3x now. Lol. Just wanted to say hey. Hopefully will be able to ride my KDX this coming spring in the Vintage bike series. Lol.

Welcome back!

Congratulations on the 1984 KDX200 (KDX200-A2).

If you don't already have one, look on eBay for the "Owner's Manual & Service Manual". You can look up the part number for the correct one on my site: http://www.kdxgarage.com/kdxmanualinformation.html

(Owner's Manual & Service Manual, 99920-1252-01)

If you are OK with posting the VIN and engine number, we can confirm that it is indeed a 1984 frame and engine. There have been a few people that thought it was one year, then found out it was not AFTER they bought some parts that turned out to not fit.

Instructions on how to add pictures is in my signature.

Congrats, again!

KDXGarage is correct. Welcome to the forum. I found out my 1987 has an 84 engine. An owners manual is a sound and investment. Now’s as great a time as any to identify what parts you might need. Some parts can become hard to find for these older bikes, I’ve found.

‘84 was a great bike. Simple, light, and nimble.

Thank you everyone. I will check out the vin. It’s a fun bike. I have zero clue involving dirt bikes but. Looking forward to learning about it and taking care of it
